A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 22-year-old man inside her house while her parents were away in sector 39 of Noida on Monday evening. Police said that they have arrested the accused following a complaint filed by the girl’s family.
According to the police, the complainant has said that she returned back home from her tuition class at around 4 pm when a man entered the house and raped her.
“While she was changing her clothes, when the accused, who is a neighbour, entered in and raped her while her parents were out for work, and her siblings were playing in the verandah,” said Amit Kumar Singh, station house officer, Sector 39 police station.
The accused warned her to face the consequences if she informed the incident to anyone.
“When her parents returned back home from work, they found the girl crying on the floor. They asked her the reason, she broke down and narrated the ordeal to them, following which the parents filed a complaint with the police,” said Singh.
Based on their complaint, a case under Section 376 (punishment for rape) of the Indian Penal Code, and sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered against the accused.
“The accused, who is originally from Badaun in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested immediately from his house in the village where he lives in a rented accommodation and works at a private company in Noida,” said Singh.
Police said that the accused was produced before a magistrate and later sent to jail and the girl’s result of the medical examination is awaited, the police said. She was class six student of a private school nearby.
