US President Donald Trump praises Kanye West for 'telling the truth'

Late night show host Jimmy Kimmel has been one of the biggest Donald Trump critics. Rapper Kanye West, on the other hand, had shocked the world by supporting the current president of the United States of America. Therefore, when Yeezus (as Kanye is popularly known) appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the show made headlines.

In conversation with Kimmel, West questioned why people criticise Trump and not try their hands at loving.

POTUS Trump took to Twitter to praise the rapper/designer for telling 'the truth.' He tweeted, "Thank you to Kanye West and the fact that he is willing to tell the TRUTH. One new and great FACT - African American unemployment is the lowest ever recorded in the history of our Country. So honoured by this. Thank you Kanye for your support. It is making a big difference!"

According to Sky news, West took a year and a half to put up the red 'Make America Great Again' cap since the 2016 US presidential elections.

"And what it represented to me is not about policies - because I'm not a politician like that, but it represented overcoming fear and doing what you felt, no matter what anyone said, in saying, you can't bully me: liberals can't bully me, news can't bully me, the hip-hop community, they can't bully me," the father of three told Kimmel.

"I quite enjoy it when people are mad at me about certain things," he continued.

But it was not all triumph for West. When Kimmel asked him if he thinks Donald Trump cares for black people, West chose to stay silent.

"You've so famously and so powerfully said 'George Bush doesn't care about black people'... it makes me wonder what makes you think that Donald Trump does, or any people at all?" asked Kimmel.

West just silently sat in his chair until the show was cut for the commerical break.
